Breast lift alone can restore the appearance of some patients’ breasts, but often the best result comes from combining a breast lift with augmentation. If the breasts have taken on a deflated appearance due to age it might be desirable to have a procedure to rejuvenate them, and make them full and young-looking again. In younger women, pregnancy and weight fluctuations might have left the breasts sagging. In still other cases, the culprit is heredity. Whatever the cause Dr. Payam Jarrah-Nejad (“Dr. J”) believes his patients should have the look they deserve, and he offers a breast lift and augmentation that bring a natural and aesthetically pleasing look, which helps restore confidence and vitality.
Dr. J is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, and as such, he wants you to be an informed patient. At your consultation, Dr. J will listen carefully to your hopes and answer questions. Then he will offer you your options, presenting the details of each. Some of your options will include saline implants, as opposed to silicone. There may be other concerns regarding the tissue restructuring.
How the Procedure Works
Breast lift with augmentation is essentially two procedures combined. Thus, there is a wide array of options and preferences you and Dr. J will need to discuss.
In the course of the breast lift, the breast will be reshaped and the nipples will usually be raised. Depending on the shape of the breast, and the degree to which is has drooped, there are a number of incision patterns that may be employed. Crescent shaped incisions are great for relocating the nipple. “Donut” incisions, forming concentric circles around the nipples are good for decreasing the scarring from a breast lift. An “inverted T” incision is best in cases where the change in breast shape is going to be very dramatic.
The augmentation, performed as a part of the breast lift with augmentation will also be performed in the way Dr. J determines will provide the maximum benefit for the individual patient. Inserting the implant through an incision near the nipple, the fold beneath the breast, or the armpit are options Dr. J will discuss with his patients before their breast lift with augmentation.
Recovering from breast lift with augmentation is relatively brief, though slightly longer than just an augmentation or lift. Slight pain and discomfort are normal. These can be addressed with Dr. J at a FREE consultation.
