POSTERIOR THIGH LIFT

Hate looking behind you in the mirror? A posterior thigh lift from Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. J can take care of the loose and sagging skin that can harm anyone’s confidence and comfort. Yes, with the help of the Los Angeles area’s plastic surgery leader, looking backward can be something you’ll look forward to!

WHY YOU MIGHT GET A POSTERIOR THIGH LIFT

Mother Nature is not fair! We can exercise hours every day and never consume one unnecessary calorie but sagging skin related to aging and changes in weight won’t be affected. Even more unfair, some of the worst sagging can be a consequence of a massive weight loss achieved with the help of bariatric surgery. Defeating obesity is one of the best favors someone can do for themselves, but the folds of skin that form in the back of the thighs and other parts of the body can be uncomfortable as well as unsightly. That’s no reward for someone who has literally worked their butt off for their health and appearance!

Posterior thigh lifts may also be a good option for those patients who are not candidates for Dr. J’s Natural Butt Lift® (NBL®) due to not having enough viable fat for transfer, but who do have an issue with loose skin. A posterior upper thigh lift can tighten the buttocks and give these patients a more lifted appearance without the need for fat transfer.

Whether the cause is aging or a weight loss, small or large, there is help. Payam Jarrah-Nejad, M.D., F.I.C.S., F.A.C.S., better known as Dr. J, is a widely acknowledged master of body contouring procedures. He has helped countless people of all ages and backgrounds achieve the smooth and youthful look they deserve. kimosappliance@gmail.com

WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR A POSTERIOR THIGH LIFT?

If there is sagging on the back part of your thigh and you are seriously interested in dealing with the problem through plastic surgery, then the odds are that you will be a good candidate for the procedure. As with all plastic surgeries, it’s important to be in generally good health. Also, since these kinds of procedures should never be confused with weight loss, patients should be at a stable weight.

It’s also important to have realistic expectations about the procedure. Dr. J believes in the importance of educating his patients thoroughly on their procedures so they understand their most likely outcome as well as the risks and benefits that come with every surgery.

THE PROCEDURE

A posterior thigh lift from Dr. J starts with an infragluteal crease incision made under the crease of a buttock to lift the excess, sagging skin on the back of the thighs. Putting the incision in this location will help to hide scarring by placing it in the most inconspicuous area.

Next, Dr. J carefully removes excess skin as well as excess fatty tissue via liposuction. He will then sculpt the remaining tissue and, as with similar procedures, literally lift the skin and suture it back into place. Dr. J always strives for outcomes that flatter both the back of the thighs and the patient’s entire physique. The doctor always takes an approach that is about the entire patient, not just one or two body parts in isolation.

Whether a posterior thigh lift is obtained by itself or with other surgeries – it is sometimes part of a mommy makeover – it is a delicate procedure that requires the expertise of an outstanding plastic surgeon. Former patients agree that their outcomes confirm Dr. J’s worldwide reputation for consistent excellence.

RECOVERY

Posterior thigh lifts are performed on an outpatient basis at Dr. J’s Platinum Surgical Center. Patients are advised, however, to spend one night at an aftercare facility for optimal safety.

It will be necessary to take roughly one to two weeks off from work after surgery. To ensure proper healing, patients should also avoid sitting directly on their buttocks for three weeks or as advised by Dr. J. It will also be necessary to wear the post-operative dressing for several days as directed by Dr. J. The doctor will also prescribe antibiotics to prevent infections and pain medication as needed. Patients will wear post-operative compression garments for about six to 12 weeks following their surgery.

The outcome of the posterior thigh lift will typically start to show itself a few weeks following surgery but recovery time varies. In most cases, however, the full results should be apparent in no longer than six months.

Patients should expect some swelling (edema) as part of the recovery, particularly for those who are getting the procedure after losing a significant amount of weight.
